Attorneys In Howell, MI John and his wife, Linda, live in Holt, Michigan and have three children and twelve grandchildren. John and Linda moved to Michigan from Burlington, Iowa in 1985 and have become avid and supportive Michigan State Spartan fans, except, when the Spartans are playing John's alma mater, the Iowa Hawkeyes. Go Green!!

John and his partner, Duane Silverthorn, celebrated 20 years as partners on January 4, 2014. John's practice focuses and specializes in domestic relations, family law (wills and trusts) and property management (landlord/tenant). He practices primarily in Ingham, Clinton, Eaton, Shiawassee and Ionia counties.

John was an avid golfer until he discovered the wonderful world of motorcycling, Harley Davidsons in particular, and hasn't swung a club since 2002. Now would be the time to challenge him to nine holes. He has served his local HOG Chapter (Harley Owners Group) as Head Road Captain and Safety Officer, Assistant Director and Director. John and Linda have traveled over 35, 000 miles the last three years on their 2010 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Limited.

In addition to motorcycling, John teaches, practices and is still learning Okinawan Karate Do, and celebrated 45 years of study in October, 2013. He is Secretary Counsel for the United States Karate Do Kai, an international karate organization, and he is a member of the Trias International Society, Karate's oldest Hall of Fame. He is a founding member of the Bushido International Hall of Fame and served as its President for ten years.
